John "Jack" Beck Obituary

John "Jack" Beck, age 76, of 3021 Reddin Road, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday November 29, 2012 at Arborview Court in Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Sahayanathan Nathan will officiate. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Monday and at church Tuesday from 10:30 - 11:30 AM. A Knights of Columbus Rosary service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Jack was born October 19, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids to Paul and Ruby (Barber) Beck. He married Rita O'Shasky on August 16, 1958. Jack served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1953 - 1957. Jack was employed by Consolidated Papers for 44 years, retiring as a paper machine supervisor in 2000.

Jack had been a member of the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and the Men's Club at St. Mary's. His interests included woodworking, fishing, gardening, and farming. Jack truly enjoyed spending time "Up North” at his daughter’s cabins. One of Jack’s greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandsons swimming, building projects, and attending their sporting events. The annual deer hunt on the family farm will never quite be the same without Jack.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita; three daughters Debbie (Greg) Schwandt of Greentown, IN, Diane Eastmead of Madison, and Linda (Greg) Weinfurter of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandsons Daniel and Michael Weinfurter; two sisters, Helen Molepske of Rudolph and Beverly (Robert) Milkey of Rudolph and also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son in-law Keith Eastmead, and two brothers, George and Kenneth.

The Beck family would like to acknowledge Arborwood Court and Aspirus Hospice for their outstanding job and passion for others while caring for Jack during this difficult time.
