Barbara I. Crail, age 84, of 511 7th Street North, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Monday, Sept 3, 2012 at Baker Street Community Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Milt Van Natta will officiate. Visitation will take place at Baker Street Community Church on Monday from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be at held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
Barbara was born October 27, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI to Theodore John and Edith May (Race) Riegling. She married David D. Crail on March 24, 1951 in Oak Park, IL.
Barbara graduated from Proviso High School in Maywood, IL in 1945. She then graduated from Northern Illinois State College in DeKalb, IL in 1950. Barbara taught public schools in Riverside, IL, Maywood, IL and Elk Grove Village, IL and also taught at Elk Grove Preschool, where the school was sponsored by Elk Grove Wesleyan Church. Barbara was active in Wesleyan Women, where she held local and district offices. She was a leader of Pioneer Girls in Elk Grove. While serving at the Wisconsin Rapids Wesleyan Church, Barbara was the first director of the Wood County Child Care Resource and Referral Program.
Barbara worked beside her Pastor Husband in Wesleyan churches in Maywood, IL, Elk Grove Village, IL, and Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Methodist churches in Melrose,WI and Cataract, WI. She was the pianist and organist while at some of these churches.
Barbara enjoyed reading, crocheting, music, listening to and playing piano and also made felt Christmas trees and skirts for her families. Barbra always enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren and only sister.
Barbara is survived by her husband, David; six children, Steve (Cheryl) Crail of Roselle, IL, Carolyn (Pedro) Medina of Pflugerville, TX, Theodore (Rhona) Crail of Highland, IL, Timothy (Doreen) Crail of Portland, OR, Jonathan (Rhodalyne) Crail of Glen Ellyn, IL and Diane (Boris) Illade of Westminster, CO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one sister, Jacqueline M. Dennis of Michigan. Barbara is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
