Ida B. Bloomfield, age 100, of 2711 12th Street South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Ritchay Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Christine Stack will officiate. Visitation will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Ida was born July 8, 1912 in Nekoosa, WI to Levi Wade and Etta Mae (Ross) Townsend. She married Byron Bloomfield on December 1, 1934 at the parsonage in Nekoosa, WI. Byron died October 17, 2003, after almost 69 years of marriage. They farmed in Arkdale until Byron got a job in the Nekoosa mill, then they moved to Port Edwards and later moved to Kellner.

Ida graduated from Alexander High School in 1930 and Wood County Normal. She taught school in Adams County. She worked at seasonal jobs. She cut leather for Paul Bunyan, counted trees for Griffith Nursery, sorted cranberries at Hoffman Marsh and also sorted beans for Delmonte. and was also laundry manager at Family Heritage Nursing Home.

Ida was a member of the Kellner Moravian Church, She taught Sunday and bible school and belonged to Women's Fellowship.

Ida was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She kept a notebook of the smart and funny things her grandkids said. Ida loved birds and flowers and her hobbies were traveling with her sister in law, Ruth O'Donnell, sewing and reading. She made dozens of lap robes for nursing and veterans homes.

Ida is survived by one son, Byron Bloomfield of Nekoosa, WI; one daughter, Mary Huber of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughter in law, Belva Bloomfield of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; five grandchildren, Peter Huber of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Sue (Dan) Stoflet of Green Bay, WI, Craig (Lisa) Bloomfield of Verona, WI, Todd Bloomfield of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Troy Bloomfield of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Jared and Emily Bloomfield, Amie Klevene, Daniel Huber and Scott Oleson; five great great grandchildren, Tyson, Bryant and Broderick Oleson and Aiden and Sophie Klevene; two half sisters, Fern York of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Verna Hass of Nekoosa, WI; and good friend, Mavis Newman.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Byron; son, Arthur, brother, Harold Townsend, infant grandson, Jeffrey Bloomfield, sister, Una Pollard and daughter in law, Mildred Bloomfield.
